Scottish acting star Richard Gadd scooped three awards at the 2024 Emmy's, as his groundbreaking Netflix show Baby Reindeer took home a total of four gongs on the night.The 35-year-old comedian, actor and writer collected three of the awards for writing, producing and starring in the series, which is believed to be inspired by his real-life experiences of stalking and sexual assault.The show quickly gained headlines after Fiona Harvey lashed out at the series, claiming to be the inspiration behind the character Martha who stalked Gadd.
She subsequently went on to file a lawsuit against Netflix, accusing the narrative of being inaccurate.Actor Jessica Gunning also won her first Emmy for best supporting actress for playing Martha Scott, who stalks Gadd’s character Donny Dunn in the show.“Look, 10 years ago I was down and out.
I never ever thought I’d get my life together,” Gadd said during his first on-stage speech.“I never, ever thought I’d be able to rectify myself, what had happened to me, and get myself back on my feet again, and then here I am, just over a decade later, picking up one of the biggest writing awards in television.“I don’t mean that to sound arrogant.
