The trophy haul wasn’t over yet for Baby Reindeer: the Netflix phenom has now seized the Golden Globe for 2024’s Best Limited Series.
The critically acclaimed dark comedy that broke Netflix’s Global Top 10 streaming records since its debut in April of 2024 already won six Emmys in the fall, including one for Outstanding Limited Series or Anthology.
Baby Reindeer has stiff competition going into Sunday’s Globes; it was up against Disclaimer (Apple Tv+), Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story (Netflix), The Penguin (HBO | Max), Ripley (Netflix) and True Detective: Night Country (HBO | Max). “The way you have embraced this show is unbelievable,” creator and star Richard Gadd said in his acceptance speech. “That means the absolute world to us … A lot of people sometimes ask me, why Baby Reindeer?
why do a show this dark? I think in a lot of ways, people were kind of crying out for something that spoke to the painful inconsistencies of being human.” Earlier in the night, Jessica Gunning won a Globe for playing the stalker Martha.
