A two-month-old baby girl is fighting for her life after she had heroin injected in her head. The tot, who has not been named, is on life support at Cook Children's in Fort Worth, Texas, while her mum has been held by police.

Officers say the infant was found unconscious with injection marks at an address in San Angelo on Sunday and she was rushed to Shannon Medical Center.

Medics made the sickening discovery of injection sites all over her tiny body including her head and her urine tested positive for heroin.

Authorities told news channel Local 12 that it is a shocking case. Due to the infant's condition she was transferred to Cook Children’s Hospital where she continued to fight for her life on Wednesday morning.
