Babatunde Aleshe has said Matt Hancock is no longer a member of the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! group chat with his former campmates.

Comedian Babatunde, 36, and the former Health Secretary, 44, were contestants on the hit ITV reality show in 2022. Babatunde has now opened up on his experience during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, and he spilled the beans on how involved the MP still is with the former campmates.

Speaking about whether Matt is even still in the WhatsApp group, Babatunde admitted: “I checked today and he’s not in the group anymore. “I don’t know if he’s been kicked out or if he left of his own accord.” The comedian went on to say that while the contestant were all laughing and joking together by the end, the experience of living with the former minister was "tough" in reality. “I won’t lie, it was tough but I tried to make good out of a bad situation," he explained.“You’re in here, I’ve got to be your teammate and he came in flying, winning trials. “But at the end of the day, I do believe in second chances and I was just like 'Let me at least try to be the nice person'." Despite enormous controversy over the MP's addition to the camp, which also saw the public repeatedly voting for Matt to take on various Bushtucker Trials for days on end, he ended up surprising many.

The campmate ended up making it all the way to the final, with some even convinced he would win the whole series. He came third, behind the winner, Euro 2022 champion Jill Scott, and Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner following a public vote.
