An Ayrshire nursing home has been given more time to make improvements to aspects of the care it provides. Cumnor Hall, in Ayr’s Racecourse View, has been given until Sunday, October 16 to carry out the necessary work.

The Care Inspectorate visited the home last month to follow-up on a previous requirement made in relation to Domestic Service Room (DSR) facilities.And while they noted that the work was already underway, extra time has been allowed so that the improvements can be completed.An extract from the Care Inspectorate report said: “A requirement was made at the previous inspection to ensure that Domestic Service Room (DSR) facilities in the home were improved.

This would protect people using the service from the risk of infection.“The provider had put an action plan in place to manage the improvements needed.
