An Ayrshire family claim they were served up an "inedible" chippy supper at a popular holiday camp this week. Calum Kennedy ordered up more than £30 worth of food from Craig Tara while holidaying there on Monday - but insists the grub was in no fit state to eat.Calum, who owns his own chip shop van business, decided to order a delivery from the fish and chip shop on site to his caravan.

The order came to £34 in total and included a regular cod, two sausage suppers and some extra portions of chips. However, when Calum opened the delivery box he was in "shock" as the state of his cuisine.Calum, who owns the award-winning Joanna’s Chippy Van, said: "The food was absolutely 100 per cent inedible, it actually looked like the fish had been sitting for weeks.

This is the first time we’ve ordered form the onsite chippy."We went back up to the shop and all they said was they would refund it. "We showed our pictures to numerous members of staff asking what they thought and they couldn’t even look at the photos without disgust in their face."Calum decided to share this experience on his businesses' Facebook page.

In his post he said: "This is an absolute disgrace to our industry". Almost 500 people commented, saying it was "shocking" and "disgusting", with someone commenting that "even the seagulls would not eat that."Calum insisted that he and his family always try other fish and chip shops as it is good to get some experiences on how other businesses operate.
