Large parts of Ayr's Station Hotel are today lying open to the elements after storms battered the town.High winds which swept in last night have ripped through the protective dome around the building.Council chiefs are spending £64,000 per month on the safety measures to stop the hotel from falling down. But for the third time in little over a year, large holes have been blown in the sheeting. Both the north and south end of the building have been left exposed today after winds blew off the cover to the scaffolding.Storms have also left the front of the iconic hotel in full view.South Ayrshire Council have been contacted for comment. For the latest news and breaking news visit our website.
