The Spain international was an unused substitute against Arsenal in midweek after playing the full 90 minutes in matches against Leicester City and the FA Cup semi-final versus Sheffield United earlier this month.
An unfortunate injury to Nathan Ake appears to have afforded Laporte another opportunity in the first-team after falling out of favour for much of February and March.
Manuel Akanji made way for Laporte versus Leicester, and City fans want that to be the case again as the 28-year-old comes into the side at left-back.
