An autistic boy who tried to save his grandad's life after sudden heart failure was given a bravery award by his own family.

Eight-year-old Jake, from Wishaw, found his beloved grandad Tony McKenzie slumped on a couch in the living room on October 23.

The 47-year-old Lidl manager had been well earlier in the morning when his wife Margaret left for work. Brave Jake realised his grandad was unresponsive and rushed to find help from a neighbour.

Unable to find anyone, the youngster began shouting in the street for help before a couple heard his cries.Paramedics were called to the property but Tony was tragically pronounced dead.Jake's uncle Jordan, 28, told the Record: "Jake's actions were remarkable, especially for a young boy with autism."My mum had tried to call my dad but she couldn't get through.
