Austin Butler is on top of his game right now as he is collecting awards for his work in Elvis. However, he was considering leaving the industry behind a couple of years ago.
The 31-year-old Oscar nominee revealed that he had considered retiring and pursuing a different career path. He also explained what convinced him to change his mind during a recent interview. Read more about Austin Butler’s decision… Austin spoke with Access Hollywood at the 2023 Oscars Nominees Luncheon on Monday (February 13) and said that he was questioning his career around when his mom passed away in 2014. “After my mom passed away it put things in a different perspective where I started to question if this was a profession that could help the world or anything,” he recalled.
He continued, saying “There’s times when you’re also not getting to do what you really dream of doing, and you kind of question if you’ll ever get to that point of being able to work with the people that you’ve always wanted to.” However, Austin‘s perspective changed: “And then I thought of all those times I’ve gone into a movie and come out, and the world’s felt more vibrant.
Or I’ve had a cathartic moment where I needed a good cry, and I saw a film that made me cry. Or I needed a laugh, and it made me laugh.
