Audi driver caught speeding through Farnworth

Sign up for the free MyBolton newsletter to get the top stories direct to your inbox The driver of an Audi A3 stopped on Bolton Road, Farnworth, late on Saturday (July 24) was in a vehicle travelling in excess of 60mph when exiting the A666, twice the legal limit of the road.

A 30mph restriction exists on the roads in Farnworth and the man was stopped by Greater Manchester Police Traffic, who later tweeted: "He must've forgotten it was a 30 through Farnworth." The driver also allegedly failed a drug test, was arrested and issued with a section 59 warning, which is given to drivers if they have used their vehicle in a manner which causes "alarm, distress or annoyance".
