Lockdown came at a bad time for Aston Martin’s St Athan plant in South Wales. It only opened in December last year and staff were ramping up production on the new DBX when it had to close its doors.
But with the majority of staff at the car plant now back at work, the company has followed Government guidelines on how to return to work safely - as well as implementing its own initiatives.
Remarkably, every employee is given THREE different facemasks on their first day back at work. "That's not part of government guidelines," says James Stephens, Director of Government and External Affairs at Aston Martin, "but we think where there is a small chance of stopping additional spread of infection, we will issue all our staff with face masks. "
