Ashley Cain collapsed in tears as he completed his 100 mile run in honour of his daughter Azaylia on Sunday evening. The 31 year old broke down emotionally after his epic 24-hour course as several fans gathered to cheer him on at the finish line in Trafalgar Square.

Ashley had participated in the run on the first anniversary of his eight month old daughter Azaylia’s death following her battle with acute myeloid leukaemia after being diagnosed eight weeks after birth.

He began his difficult journey on Saturday in his daughter’s memorial garden in Nuneaton and ended in the heart of the capital, all in aid of raising money for The Azaylia Foundation, which was set up to support families with children suffering from cancer.
