Ashley Cain has opened up about his pain over receiving hundreds of cruel messages after welcoming his new baby son in January.
Much of the criticism was about his choice of name - Aliyas Diamond Cain - which is the same initials and middle name as his late daughter Azaylia Diamond Cain, who tragically died at just eight months.The former footballer, 33, has tried to remain upbeat in the face of the cruel trolling, but has now shared an emotional insight into what it's like living on the receiving end of "hateful, negative and bitter messages" sent to him and his family on a "day to day basis".
Speaking on his Instagram stories over the weekend, he said: "How do I continue? How do I ignore? The answer is, with great difficulty." Addressing how he coped with the negativity and hate, Ashley said the thing he cared most about was honouring Azaylia's life and her legacy, and "creating a blessed life for my son who is still here".
He shared: "If I'm going to be completely honest, I wake up a lot of the the time and I don't want to get up . I go through a lot of days and think that I can't continue.
