For years, twisted predator Robert Emmerson prowled the streets beneath Mancunian Way. Even in broad daylight he would target students and schoolgirls, grabbing them in a 'bear hug' before subjecting them to sickening attacks.
Yesterday (January 30), a court heard from his victims, who told how the 40-year-old would 'laugh' has he carried out the depraved assaults.
He targeted 11 women and girls, some of whom were underage, in a spree of offending between November 2023 and April 2024. Emmerson pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him following a police investigation.
But after forcing the survivors to relive their trauma in a trial, he was unanimously convicted by a jury. He was jailed for four and half years after being convicted of five counts of sexual assault and seven counts of indecent exposure.
