Mesut Ozil's situation at Arsenal is baffling to say the least. When the German midfielder arrived at the Emirates in a £42.5million move from Real Madrid seven years ago, he was widely regarded as one of the biggest stars in world football.
And it's fair to say that the playmaker lived up to his reputation in his early days in north London, delivering performances that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
Gunners chiefs duly rewarded Ozil with a mammoth £350,000-a-week contract in 2018 but he's gone from No.1 superstar to forgotten man.
Ozil's playing time was beginning to fade under Unai Emery and, with Mikel Arteta now in charge, the midfielder looks certain to leave the leave the club.
