Arsenal ’s game at Brighton on Saturday is now set to be postponed with Arteta and the club’s first team squad plus anyone who has come into contact with him ordered into self isolation.
The Premier League has now called an emergency meeting on Friday morning when fixtures will be discussed - and just two hours after insisting this weekend will go ahead, it could be off.
Arteta is understood to have felt ill a couple of days ago, displayed some symptoms and then underwent a test which tested positive.
Players and staff who came into contact are now in self isolation and the club has also ordered the closure of their London Colney
