Arsenal moved into the top half of the Premier League as they swatted aside Newcastle with three second half goals at the Emirates Stadium.
After Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had hit the post from close range in the first half, he cut in from the left and found the net following a swift attack in the opening moments of the second period.
Newcastle had stood up well in the first half but they never carried much of an attacking threat, and they fell two down on the hour mark when Emile Smith Rowe teed up Bukayo Saka for a slick finish.
Aubemeyang grabbed his second and Arsenal's third after being teed up by Cedric, with the Gunners now having won four of their last five games in the Premier League.
