Around £1.8m worth of cocaine seized in Glasgow as two men charged

Scots cops have seized a drugs haul worth a potential value of £1.8 million following an operation in Glasgow.The snare took place on Thursday, 12 October when officers from Glasgow’s organised crime unit intercepted two cars in Dunragit Street and seized approx 42 kilos of what is believed to be cocaine.

The Class A drug has a potential street value of £1.8 million.Two men aged 34 and 56 have been arrested and charged in connection with the seizure.

Both are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday, 13 October. Detective Superintendent David Ferry said: “This operation underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy."He added: "People’s lives are ruined by drugs and we are determined to disrupt criminal activity which has such a negative impact on the lives of our communities.
