Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger has paid tribute to WWE icon Shad Gaspard after he tragically died earlier this month.

Gaspard was among a group of swimmers caught in a strong rip current in Venice Beach on May 17 at the age of 39. After reportedly instructing lifeguards to save his son first, Gaspard disappeared underwater with his body found washed ashore three days later.

Tributes have poured in from around the world with a memorial placed outside of Gold’s Gym, where Gaspard used to train, in California.

Schwarzenegger knew the former wrestling star from the gym, where some of the top bodybuilders from around the world go to train.
