Ariana Grande Says ‘Quiet On Set’ Nickelodeon Allegations Are “Devastating”: “The Environment Needs To Be Made Safer”

Ariana Grande is commenting on the allegations made by former Nickelodeon stars in the ID docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.

The Wicked star appeared on a podcast and looked back at her time on the sets of Victorious and Sam & Cat, calling for therapists to be “mandatory” on kid show sets.

Grande also said that it was “devastating” to learn about the experiences that some of her colleagues had. “I think the environment needs to be made safer if kids are going to be acting, and I think there should be therapists,” Grande said on the latest episode of Popcrushed. “I think parents should allowed to be wherever they want to be, and I think not only on kids’ sets.

If anyone wants to do this, or music, or anything at this level of exposure, there should be in the contract something about therapy is mandatory twice a week or thrice a week, or something like that.” Amid the allegations, Grande said that she is “reprocessing” her own “relationship to it a little bit now.” Looking back at some of the scenes she filmed as a teenager for the sitcoms she starred in has made Grande “upset” given the new context. “Specifically about our show, I think that was something that we were convinced was the cool thing about us — is that we pushed the envelope with our humor,” Grande said. “And the innuendos were…it was like the cool differentiation.
