Ariana Grande joins Demi Lovato in parting ways with manager Scooter Braun: report
nypost.com“Thank U, Next” to her manager, Scooter Braun? Puck News reported Monday that Grande, 30, is following fellow pop star Demi Lovato’s lead in parting ways with the famed manager, whose roster also includes Tori Kelly, Carly Rae Jepsen, Dan + Shay, and most famously, Justin Bieber.
Unidentified sources also confirm to Billboard, but an insider told The Post that the Grande rumor is simply not true.The Post has contacted reps for Grande and Braun, 42, for comment.
Grande began working with Braun in 2013 with the release of her debut album, “Yours Truly.”“The reason I signed with him is because we had a meeting at my house, and he was equally as passionate about my project as I was, if not more,” Grande told Elle in 2013, calling Braun “an incredible businessman.”But their working relationship hasn’t been perfect.
Grande temporarily fired Braun in February 2016 — a move Braun later chalked up to “s—-y boyfriends.”He told Variety in 2018, “With Ariana, I could have said a lot of stuff, and in fact my team wanted me to, because they were pissed.”“But I said, ‘We’re not gonna say a word, and this is gonna come back around,'” he continued. “They were like, ‘Never take her back!,’ but I just said, ‘Let’s stay quiet and let our truth be our actions.'”He added: “And when s—-y boyfriends leave, she starts to see the light on some stuff, and one day I got a phone call.
