Arg calls ex Lydia Bright his ‘best friend’ as he addresses reconciliation reports

James "Arg" Argent opened up about his "best friend" and long-time confidante Lydia Bright as he addressed whether there was a chance the pair could ever get back together.The 34 year old appeared on Loose Women today to discuss his recent addiction relapse and his road to recovery with panellists Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Carol McGiffin and Kelle Bryan.

During the chat, Ruth commented on how close the TOWIE stars are, and how Lydia, 31, had supported James through the last two years. "Lydia who you had an on and off relationship with for a long time, she's a really good friend, and she's helping you still," Ruth prompted.

I dropped round a little present for her daughter Loretta the other day, I got her her first pair of Yeezys [trainers], baby Yeezys, so Lydia loved that," the star chuckled. "I was laughing because she went 'I've got the fake ones and my daughter's got the real ones!'" As the reality TV favourite gushed over their wonderful friendship, a sly Ruth decided to ask about a possible reconciliation. "I can ask you this because I've known you a long time, but is there not a spark of romance between you?" the This Morning presenter coaxed, as she smiled at the prospect of seeing them happy together. "No we were together for something like eight years," James insisted. "And there's a lot of history there but we've made it clear to each other that we're just so much better off as friends.
