A guest on BBC's Antiques Roadshow was left in hysterics when she discovered the staggering value of her item - a pair of "fancy dress" earrings she picked up from a charity shop in Australia.

She went on to add: "I've had a really good look at them and obviously I've come to my own conclusions about what they are through knowledge and experience of looking at these pieces." Susan continued: "So I have got one of these, which is a thermal tester and through heat it will differentiate between paste and diamond and it's going to make a series of noises and that'll help us determine one way or the other, what they are." Susan then proceeded to use the gadget on the earrings to determine if they.
