An Antiques Roadshow guest was left amazed after a carving he "doesn't really like" was estimated to be worth between £5,000 and £10,000.
He told that the eagle carving - which turned out to be a piece of Swiss history - had been found in a junk shop for a cool £76. "It's not actually mine, it's my son-in-law's," the guest explained to expert Cristian Beadman, "He bought it in a junk shop just outside York." Cristian explained that it comes from the Swiss town of Brienz, which was "famed in the 19th and early 20th centuries for its carved linden wood animal models."
