Antiques Roadshow gets its weirdest item yet with Seychelles sea coconut ornament

The Antiques Roadshow has had its fair share of weird and wonderful finds over the years, but an item in tonight’s episode [15 March 2020] might just take the cake.

A giant, varnished nut, called a coco de mer, resembling a backside had onlookers (and social media commentators) fascinated.

We’re still not quite sure what it’s meant to be, but we’re guessing… an ornament? ‘I’m a collector, in the sense of a really old style collector,’ said antiques expert Marc Allum. ‘I love the idea of a cabinet of curiosities.
