In a first for Antiques Road Trip, Paul Laidlaw found an item in an antique store that ended up selling for a whopping £20,000.
In an episode which aired in 2021, the auctioneer discovered a rare old camera for just £60, and was shocked when it sold for such a high price at a Bury St.
Edmunds auction in Suffolk, alongside fellow expert Kate Bliss. While Paul was on the hunt for unique items in Margate, Kent, the shop owner explained: "Three floors, the upstairs is mainly furniture but there's stuff everywhere.
And on this floor, there are four rooms through and in the middle, there's a staircase which goes down to a room full of chairs and another room full below!" Facing the daunting task, Paul humorously replied: "Don't send the calvary - okay?" Delving into the store's treasures, Paul later returned to the owner and offered: "In your cabinet over there, optical instrument... £75 on that.
