Anti-abortion protesters are set to target Glasgow hospitals in a 40-day long protest starting from next week. Pro-life campaigners from Texas based religious group 40 Days For Life confirmed they will gather outside a number of hospitals and clinics in the city from September 27 until November 5.

Their plans were announced amid a fight to introduce buffer zones in Scotland. In February, the group were slammed for their activity outside the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where campaigners held graphic placards and attempted to leaflet patients near the facility's sexual health clinic.

We told how members were confronted by NHS consultant Greg Irwin, who told the activists to leave. He said: “You are upsetting my patients and you are upsetting my staff.

What you are doing is very unkind and I would like you to stop what you are doing. I know you are acting out in Christian faith, which says we should love one another.“You are not being loving to these people.
