Ant Middleton ‘quits’ Royal Navy role months after controversial Black Lives Matter tweet

Ant Middleton has reportedly quit his role with the Royal Navy after receiving backlash for a tweet about Black Lives Matter during the protests. The SAS: Who Dares Wins star was appointed the Chief Cadet of the Volunteer Cadet Corps, which is a youth organisation affiliated to the Royal Navy, last November.

However, sources claim he has decided to step down due to bosses at the organisation reportedly being unhappy over his tweet in June, in which he appeared to describe both Black Lives Matter and far-right protesters as ‘scum’.

A source told The Sun: ‘He never thought he’d be given such a difficult choice. ‘But he has decided to take matters into his own hands and step down.
