Ant and Dec have shared a teary message ahead of the final episode of Saturday Night Takeaway. The presenting duo confirmed that their much-loved ITV series would be taking a break after its current 20th season, with the last show airing on Saturday (April 13).

After 22 years on screen, Ant and Dec said it seemed like the 'perfect time to pause for a little while and catch our breath'.

The pair have also said they are putting their popular programme on pause 'to spend some time' with their loved ones. Ant McPartlin, 48, married Anne-Marie Corbett, who has two teenage daughters from her previous relationship, in 2021 whilst Dec Donnelly, 48, shares two children, five-year-old daughter Isla and 18-month-old Jack, with his wife Ali Astall, whom he married in 2015. The specially extended show will also be filled with celebrity guests throughout including Ashley Roberts, S Club, Scarlett Moffatt, Andi Peters, Kaiser Chiefs, Jordan North and Tony Hadley.
