Anne Doyle was a staple on Irish telly for years before hanging up her hat a decade ago. And retirement has suited the RTÉ legend who has now confessed that she has ‘no desire’ to get in front of the camera again.

Despite some of her retired co-workers heading back to help report on the COVID-19 pandemic, Anne was not rushing back to the studio.

After spending 30 years as a news presenter we certainly can’t blame her for wanting to take some time for herself. ‘I had no desire to go back to news, there were plenty of people doing a great job there,’ she shared on Ireland AM. ‘I have to say, I had great admiration for news services [during lockdown], they did a fantastic job.
