The mother of a British hotel operator who was murdered on a Caribbean island has made a tearful plea after searching in vain for justice.

Helen Gobat said: “We don’t want to go to our graves without knowing who killed our son Oliver.” She is desperate after having spent more than £200,000 on detectives and forensic probes since he died.

Oliver’s body was found in his burnt-out Range Rover on a remote part of the family’s hotel resort in St Lucia. He was 38. Police said he had been bludgeoned and shot twice in the head.

Speaking exclusively to the Sunday People, heartbroken Helen said: “Nothing could prepare us for what we’ve been through. “When we got the call we were in shock.
