Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is making major progress in her attempt to legally separate herself from her famous father.

Nearly two months after Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s 18-year-old daughter legally filed to drop “Pitt” from her last name, Shiloh completed the next step in California’s name-changing process. Shiloh recently published an announcement in the Los Angeles Times to announce that she has filed to change her name to “Shiloh Jolie.” Keep reading to find out more…According to ABC News, Shiloh‘s name change has been published in the paper weekly since June 17.

Before a judge can approve a petition to change someone’s name, the person must have the legal forms published in a newspaper for one month, according to California law.

Once publish, the name-change request will then show up in the legal notice section of a paper. Shiloh first filed for a name change on her 18th birthday in late May.
