Angelica Ross is shedding a new light on contracts amid the SAG-AFTRA strike. The actress, best known for American Horror Story and Pose, shared a story with fans on social media about one of her own contracts that prevented her from getting other roles for years – including a few at Marvel. However, she couldn’t say yes. “I was under a 7 year contract with FX in what they call ‘first position.’ As a series regular, I could not work anywhere else without getting network approval,” she recalled. “While working on AHS season 10 I was told I would be returning to season 11 and was put on hold for several months.” Angelica went on, saying that it was “during this time” that “Marvel called a few times asking about my availability.
By the time FX released me, Marvel stopped calling.” “Now it’s been years since I have had an acting job. This is also why we are striking. #UnionStrong #SAGAFTRAstrike.” The SAG-AFTRA strike is exposing a lot of different facets of actors’ lives, from how much they get paid and with Angelica‘s case, how contracts can prevent them from other jobs.
