Victorious Andy Murray has hinted that he might retire in 'the next few months' after a milestone in in Dubai. The tennis star, who will be 37 in May, won his 500th hard court match by beating Denis Shapovalov on Monday.
This was his second win in six events in 2024. During his last defeat in Qatar, he told his coaching team: "This game is not for me anymore".
In December, the three-time Grand Slam champion said this could be his final season. He also admitted that his appearance at the Australian Open last month could have been his last.
But Murray said: "People read a lot into what I say on the court sometimes. It's not always rational. But everybody asks me about it all of the time anyway.
