Reflecting on that evening, Garfield conceded: "I also, retrospectively, felt a little bit insensitive toward Ryan's moment." Reynolds echoed this sentiment, adding: "I did too," and mentioned that he was thankful the incident was in a wide shot, unnoticed until later.
