Andrew Cuomo has officially resigned as the Governor of the state of New York after an investigation found he sexually harassed multiple women.
The 63-year-old politician announced he would be stepping down in 14 days, and his lieutenant governor, Kathy Hochul, will take his place at that time.
She will be the state’s first female Governor. August 24 will be his final day. “I think that given the circumstances the best way I can help now is if I step aside and let government get back to government, and therefore that is what I’ll do, because I work for you, and doing the right thing, is doing the right thing for you,” Cuomo said.
