Andrea Mitchell anchored her final edition of MSNBC‘s long-running Andrea Mitchell Reports, with staffers and colleagues past and present entering the studio to give her an ovation as she wrapped up the show.
Mitchell’s show has been on the network since 2008. She announced in October that she would be stepping down from the program, but would remain at NBC News as chief Washington correspondent and chief foreign affairs correspondent.
After thanking the show’s staff and past and current MSNBC executive, Mitchell told viewers, “Journalism is an enormous privilege and a responsibility.
It’s never been more important to do it well. That’s my vow as I continue on this journey.” Kristen Welker, the moderator of Meet the Press, told her, “I just want everyone to know how beloved you are by me and by so many people.
