Andre Leon Talley has sadly passed away. The legendary fashion editor passed away at the age of 73 on Tuesday (January 18) at a hospital in White Plains, New York, TMZ reports. Click inside to read more… Andre started his career in the fashion industry in 1974, apprenticing for late Vogue Editor-in-Chief Diana Vreeland at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

After working at several different fashion magazines, Andre was hired as the Fashion News Director at Vogue from 1983 until 1987.

He was named Creative Director of the magazine, holding the position from 1988 until 1995. In 1998, Andre returned to Vogue where he worked as the Editor-at-Large until 2013.

Shortly after news of Andre‘s passing broke, fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg took to Instagram to honor her late friend. “Good bye darling André ❤️
