Queen Elizabeth II is known for breaking and changing royal traditions, and she has done so throughout her reign. The monarch broke one such "ancient" tradition over 70 years ago, when she gave birth to her first child, Prince Charles.
Up until then, women in the monarchy were unable to give birth in private - including the Queen Mother. In a new royal documentary titled A Very Royal Baby: From Cradle to Crown, experts revealed the change in traditions regarding the births of royal children.
According to the documentary, the Queen's own birth was attended by the Home Secretary at the time as this was the rule of the time.
