An Updated Version of 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' Is Now Airing in Theaters After Sound Complaints

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse got a little enhancement for its’ run in theaters. According to Variety, Sony Pictures actually pulled the new movie from theaters in order to address complaints over some sound issues. Keep reading to find out more… The outlet revealed that Sony took notice of some fans’ complaints about the sound, which focused in on low audio levels during the introductory scene, especially surrounding Hailee Steinfeld‘s Gwen Stacy.

Apparently, the sound issue only affected some theaters, but Variety says that all theaters got an updated version to play. It’s not “entirely uncommon for distributors to send re-edited prints to exhibitors, ‘if the opportunity presents itself,’” a source told the outlet.

The movie has been doing pretty well at the box office since its release last weekend. It currently ranks at #1, with $120 million earnings and counting.
