Coolio, the Grammy-winning rapper whose biggest hit was 'Gangster's Paradise,' the single that launched him to international stardom, died Wednesday at age 59.
The beloved artist was visiting a friend in Los Angeles and went to the bathroom but did not come out, as reported by TMZ and picked up by DPA.
When the friend went to check on Coolio, he found him unconscious on the floor, according to the newspaper. Emergency services pronounced him dead at the scene.
The cause of Coolio's death remains unclear, but his representative explained that paramedics believe he died of cardiac arrest.
