Amber Heard has told a court that she punched Johnny Depp in defence of her sister because she'd heard a rumour that the actor had pushed supermodel Kate Moss down the stairs.

Heard, 34, returned to London's High Court for her second day giving evidence in Depp 's libel case against News Group Newspapers.

Depp, 57, is suing NGN over a story published in The Sun in 2018 which branded him a "wife beater" - a claim which he vehemently denies.

During today's questioning, Heard was asked about a heated row with Depp at their home in Los Angeles in March 2015. Heard's sister Whitney was there as they argued on a landing between two staircases, and the actress told the court she punched Depp to defend her sibling.
