Online retail giant Amazon is set to hike its sellers' fees by 2% from September as the UK's new 'tech tax' comes into force on all items, raising concerns customers will have to pay more.

In a notice to sellers posted on its site this week, Amazon said it had absorbed the cost of the digital services tax since it was introduced in spring, however from September 1, it will officially take effect.

The retail giant said it would be increasing referral fees, storage fees and fulfillment fees by 2% in the UK to reflect this additional cost.

The move is set to hit those sellers who sign up to "Fulfillment by Amazon", and send their goods to Amazon to store, ship and handle returns, the hardest.
