Amazon boss Jeff Bezos has just enjoyed a Prime pay day, by banking £10billion in 24 hours. The world’s richest man, 56, is now worth an estimated £150billion, eclipsing blue-chip giants such as McDonald’s, Nike and oil firm Exxon.
It comes after profits soared at Amazon amid the explosion in online shopping during the pandemic. US entrepreneur Bezos has 57 million shares in Amazon, the value of which surged on Monday after a positive Wall Street forecast.
And ex-wife MacKenzie Bezos, who got 19.7 million shares in their divorce, raked in £3.62bn – making her the 13th richest person in the world.
