Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has spoken out over claims that a recent contestant's Golden Buzzer was a "fix". The 52 year old spoke out to defend herself after a number of show fans believed that it wasn't fair when a young girl named Olivia Lynes received the coveted buzzer for her performance of Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked, which left her mum and grandma in tears.

Viewers of the popular talent show were seen a clip of Amanda meeting Olivia before inviting her to audition for the show. After wowing the judges and the audience with her singing, Olivia then got the Golden Buzzer pressed by Amanda.

The judge, who looked stunning in a fitted white dress and gloves that went past her elbows, gushed: "You were my golden moment, you were the golden moment. "You were absolutely amazing, you nailed that." But viewers were less than impressed as they took to Twitter, with one saying: "What’s the point of this show?

She’s hand-picked by Amanda, who then gives her a Golden Buzzer, what a fix #BritainsGotTalent." Another said: "Called it #fix #BritainsGotTalent," whilst a third tweeted: "So Amanda invited her onto the show, so she could push the golden buzzer? #bgt." Amanda has since spoken out about the incident, as she told MailOnline: "So I didn't know if I was allowed to press it for her because I’d actually met her the day before as part of our golden moments and encouraged her to come down and audition. "But when I met her I had no idea if she could sing, and then was absolutely blown away by her performance." Little Olivia was thrilled at the reaction to her performance as she said: "I can’t remember everything she said because I was so excited.
