Amanda Abbington has said she “would not have been able to live with myself” if she had stayed silent about her Strictly Come Dancing experience.The Sherlock actress appeared on the BBC One show in 2023.
Amanda, 50, said she thought “long and hard” before making a complaint to the BBC about the behaviour of former dance partner Giovanni Pernice, 33, due to the “backlash” she would receive.
Giovanni has rejected "any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour".The Italian professional dancer will not return to the show this year.
He said in a statement on Instagram in June that he is “cooperating fully” with an ongoing “BBC investigation”. Amanda has spoken out in a new interview about her time on Strictly with Giovanni, alleging that Giovanni's behaviour was "abusive" and "cruel".
