Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.
Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.
Ally McCoist has rounded on Celtic's decision to press on with their midseason training camp in Dubai. The Rangers hero branded the trip a "stupid idea" amid tightening Covid-19 restrictions and demanded Nicola Sturgeon personally step in and investigate.
Neil Lennon's side have returned from the camp in the UAE, with the SFA satisfied the club have no case to answer.But McCoist is adamant the plans should have been abandoned regardless of whether they contravened Covid protocols.
Speaking on BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra, he responded to Chris Sutton pointing out there'd been no breach of guidelines.
But, in an impassioned rant, McCoist insists there's no way it should have gone ahead.He said: "No... I hear what Chris is saying.
