Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Neil Lennon and his squad took a controversial trip to the Middle East for warm weather training, and while it was allowed under coronavirus rules many felt the move was ill-advised.

Defender Christopher Jullien tested positive for Covid-19 on the squad's return and contact tracing forced 13 other players plus manager Neil Lennon and his assistant John Kennedy to isolate.

On Thursday it was revealed the club have placed their Under-18 squad on furlough after the SFA announced a three week break for all football below the top two divisions of the men's game.

And Durham claims that Celtic should be sent down to the fourth tier for bringing the game into disrepute as he slammed the Parkhead club.
