Queens picked up only four points from their opening nine matches but a run of one defeat in 10 after Christmas reignited their campaign and they sit three points off the play-off spots with three games left ahead of Saturday’s trip to Dunfermline.
The former Rangers, Hearts and Scotland star, in his second spell in charge at Palmerston, has now signed a deal through to 2023 as has his assistant Sandy Clark.
